Probably being a bit thick here, but can you open joint savings accounts the same way you can with current accounts?

You can certainly open joint savings accounts, including fixed rate 1/2/3 years savings bonds but as far as I'm aware I don't know of any tax free savings accounts which can be held in joint names. I believe all the NSI tax free savings accounts have to be held in individual names, as do premium bonds.0

In general yes. (as long as the bank allows it for the account of course)
Don't forget as with other joint accounts, if one of the account holders is not paying tax, you can have half the interest tax free! (You need to complete form R85 and send it to the bank)

Depends on whether you mean "tax-free" as in "registered to receive gross interest" or "accounts with special tax status such as ISAs". The I in ISA stands for Individual.0
