Help! Advice needed

Hi,

Yesterday I bought a box set of baby einstein dvds on ebay and paid the seller through paypal.

This morning I received an e-mail from ebay saying

'Our records show that you were a bidder on this item. We recently removed this listing and have suspended the seller's trading privileges.'

and

'If you have already paid, you may wish to pursue recouping your funds.'

I e-mailed the seller who replied 'item has been sent, nothing to worry about, should be with you today or tomorrow.' I asked him why ebay had suspended him and he said 'because other dvds I was selling were unreleased.'

What should I do? Should I wait to see if they turn up? This has never happened to me before. Help!

The problem with this situation is that Ebay makes you panic - you start chargeback because they scare you into believing the seller is a crook and you have lost your money. Which can of course be the case, but you have plenty of time to worry later. The problem is that I was in this situation recently and having read through the forum I have found that in most cases the sellers or buyers who are suspended get re-instated. They can then leave feedback. And if you have panicked you are in danger of getting negative feedback.

Therefore when my buyer was suspended from ebay, I received payment from him anyway and sent the goods anyway, just in case - he was very pleasant in his emails though.

The only reason for you to start panicking may be because when you do start a chargeback there will be no funds in the seller's account to get your money back. But a chargeback takes forever, giving the seller every chance to clear his account and if he is a baddie and does not go back to ebay, there will be no more funds going into paypal - therefore no refund for you.

Most likely though is that he might be telling the truth. Your DVDs sould be with you soon.

My niece adores baby einstein - not too energising for adults though!

sounds like a good seller..funny, i was trying to bid on 19 baby einstein dvds yesterday! wonder if its the same one.I reckon your seller would have sent by recorded delivery for that amount of money .if you dont want them i'l have them .lol

I hope everything is ok, got these for my baby for christmas.

They seem to be so popular these dvds! The 19 disk was going for £40 or £50 quid so I bought the 17 disc for £24.99 (and used my ebay christmas coupon for the postage )

You might be able to verify his story by doing a completed item search and seeing what else he was selling (although if ebay ended the listings I'm not sure if you'll necessarily be able to view them....?

Don't forget as well that 'unreleased' means pirate copies, so you might want to double check any DVDs you get from this guy.

Just letting you know I got the set about an hour ago. Checked the dvds and they all play fine.

I think ebay scare people for no reason sometimes!

I can see these dvds are going to drive me nuts!!! :rudolf:

The seller is xmas-dvds, is that the same one?
