You lost THREE sets of builders on one job???

Then you got someone to finish that job for a "mad" amount??

Then you used that guy again on a new job and now he's gone awol?

To lose one builder is unfortunate, to lose two is perhaps careless, to loose three is unbelievable, but to lose four? - well I think you need to investigate more closely the real reason you are loosing them.

thanks premier for your helpful post(!) i did not actually put it all down, but in actual fact i have surveyors and architects that have worked as an agent. i do not want to make assumptions but are you a builder or developer? i suspect you do not know how hard it is to work with someone long-term in this environment as i can tell you that everyone i know who has worked in this environment agrees with my experiences. the point is when a builder comes in to finish another builder's job he will always charge more as he does not know what he will uncover and builders do disappear but it leaves the client with the need to find a way to pay the new builder more than is strictly fair. try to get a clue before posting such ridiculous responses.

No worries. You know you can always hit the 'thanks' button at the bottom RHS of a persons post to thank them

Obviously people can have a viewpoint on what you actually post. If we all started making assumptions, where would we be?

I accept that, but you've still lost a total of FOUR different builders, one of which you paid to finish the last job. Has it not struck you yet that you seem to be losing builders rapidly? Have you really looked honestly why this is?

    I think that's a little uncalled for.

Pls be nice to all MoneySavers.
...even if you disagree courtesy helps.
