Monday 13/10/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Hi to any new posters and a big shout to the usual gang:j

Today I will:
  • Check online banking
  • see if any clicks
  • storecupboard lunch and tea
  • make a loaf in breadmaker
  • Go for swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
  • Have my home made leek and potato soup for lunch with HM bread
  • Lots of paperwork and shredding to be done - will add to compost bin
  • Not use car
  • Try and have a no spend day
Good morning everyone, hope you all have a good day. Back to work again!!!
Not much exciting happening here today:D

Catch up with you later.

Morning Sophiesmum. I haven't posted on here for ages, and I feel very bad for it. My lists used to help me get things done.

    Today I will

    - check online banking
    - write 2 reviews
    - look for a matched bet
    - check clicks and surveys
    - finish the xmas shopping.

    Have a good day everyone
  • morning all

hi to sophiesmum and all who follow

well was quite good over weekend (apart from take away but i did so much i think i earnt that!)

i had a little gardening accident yesterday when the flex on the lawnmower caught fire and singed my trousers  - lucky i was wearing my lovely attractive pink combats with no button that cost £2 from primark! anyway was not hurt but felt like an idiot when i realised neighbours were watching me scream and run around the garden like an idiot:rotfl: !!

another fire incident to report.... young cat has just discovered that gas hob burns whiskers (his left hand side ones have all got singed  ). what will happen when i start using gas fire in living room... don't want to risk it yet!

    - today received an e-mail in response to my wanted lawnmower post on freecycle so hopefully i will be able to collect a replacement this week :j collecting tomorrow after rush hour :j
    - have given away a new top that oh has never worn on freecycle organised collection for tomorrow
    - the boys are halfway through their catfud job for mars doing taste tests so one free dinner for each of them today :T old boy didn't like it so young one ate two!
    - oh taking lunch to work - also taken hm cake for other lads at work :D
    - dinner will be hm lasagne (defrosting in fridge)
    - i really must do some avon work today :o as have been a bit slack recently going to sort out books etc as looks very much like rain today
    - will e-mail mum rather than phoning to arrange to deliver her works avon (plan on getting free lunch at hers too!) done and there is a £15 order waiting for me :T
    - will also ask mum if there are any staff discounts or offers on hairdressing (she works at college) they normally charge around £7 which is excellent - it does take forever if you get a nervous student but it is warm and the tea is ok ;)booked for friday afternoon
    - apart from that i really must do some housework as the place is a tip after the weekend tried dishwasher on quick wash with just half a tablet and it worked fine! hoovering next (grrrrrr!)
    - must also wash car (embarrassed as it is so dirty and i may have to take that lawnmower to oh's work for a service as it is petrol). given up on that idea as thing it it going to rain...

that's all i can think of now...

will catch up with everyone later :D

    Morning all:hello:

Oh kmac the stars!! as andan says, we're into sparkly on this thread, please let us into the secret

Princess loki, you made me laugh with your singed trousers, luckily you're okay :D

Have lost track of everything! got a migraine on Saturday and it wiped me out for the whole weekend, I think I managed one post on MSE and had to go and lie down, not funny. No housework, no spreadsheet, no daily payment...I need to update everything! Strange how losing two days throws the routine completely.

I will come back and update later...
