PayPal payment with € credit card

in Credit cards
I wonder, has anyone tried this before:
When sending a foreign currency amount, PayPal does the currency conversion, not the credit card provider.
If you send a € amount using a (foreign) € credit card from PayPal UK, does PayPal convert to £ and charge the £ amount to the card assuming it is a UK credit card?
If this was case the credit card provider would have to convert to € so that you would end up paying for two conversions.

Simple method for US purchases, Amex pay Paypal ( being American) in dollars and Amex does the conversion.

PayPal offers two conversion options:
- Use PayPal's conversion process to complete my transaction using my card's currency.
Both the original transaction currency and the converted amount that I will be charged are disclosed for my convenience. I understand that MasterCard and Visa have a currency conversion process. I have chosen not to use the MasterCard and Visa currency conversion process, and I will have no recourse against MasterCard and Visa with respect to any matter related to this conversion. - Bill me in the currency listed on the seller's invoice.
I will not know which foreign exchange rate has been applied to this transaction until I receive my card statement from my card issuer. I acknowledge that by choosing this option, my card issuer will determine the foreign exchange rate to apply to this transaction, and that I will not be informed of the foreign exchange rate or any additional foreign exchange fees applied until I am billed by my card issuer.
Using option two in my scenario (pay € amount with € credit card through PayPal UK) would avoid the needless currency conversion.
PayPal charge a 2.5% fee for their currency conversion. If using a UK credit card, it's worthwhile comparing PayPal's conversion fee to that of your credit card provider.Dagobert0 - Use PayPal's conversion process to complete my transaction using my card's currency.

Sorry for the unrelated question, but how does one get the Euro symbol without using Alt+0128? If it's possible at all, that is. I only ask because it annoys me, sitting there on my '4' key, and my stupid brain not knowing how to access it.
Thanks, and sorry for distracting from your thread.0 -
