How dare you make such a judgement on someone!!!
You have no idea what this persons situation is and you are making assumptions.
He has 75% LTV for god's sake!!!
I have had a mortgage for 10 years and during that time spent 2 years on interest only and why? because I was on maternity leave thats why.
On another note 2-3 years ago I would have agreed with some posters that high fees were acceptable as you did not have to take the deal you could go elsewhere but, in the current climate this is far from easy so maybe existing lenders should give existing borrowers a break.
It is so wrong to judge. That poster really upset me. I have just ran to my hubby in tears.. I really did not understand the abuse. I feel a bit like dirt now.

It is unforgiveable how people have posted. It fails to amaze me how people can make judgements on others without fully understanding their circumstances. I am so glad yr husband is with u for support, people need to be more sensitive in areas of financial difficulties. As you see you have friends here, do not let bullies put u off coming back here for information & gentleman or ladies if u have any decency an apology wouldn't go amiss......0 -
This board is here to help you get your mortgage sorted and find the best deal for you and your OH so I hope you dont give up on us.
Good luck on getting better and I can understand the type A workaholic
personality so try and let go a little.
My wife is superwoman/supermum and superworker till it nearly made her ill.
I like YBS and have a long term fix with 2 years to go, also overpay as much as I can afford to, so I can save or go part time in the not too distant future0 -
again, this is more a specific issue than one directed at the op,
ALOT OF PEOPLE OUT THERE HAVE INTEREST ONLY MORTGAGES BECAUSE THEY CANT AFFORD REPAYMENT, so how is the house going to be paid when the mortgage completes.
this isnt a rant at the poster and obviously if she had posted the circumstances on the initial post it would have been alot clearer, and becasue of this i apologise , of course i do not want to hurt your feelings.:o
i agree totally that lenders are totally to blame in terms of 100% + but also surely allowing interst only without proof of repayment vehicle, what is going to happen when it all tightens up in the next year and if this becomes an issue alot of people will be in trouble. THAT IS MY POINT.0 -

I worked as an accounts clerk for 14 years and then got the dreaded hypertension and got taken in to hospital 4 times and its been hard on the meds etc. I suppose that was some time ago and I really need to get back out there again. I need to get a job again but I also need to watch my health. Its hard to do both as I am what is known as a workaholic when i get going. Type "a" personality as they say and when I work, I work. I cannot relax at all but like I say I really need to get back now.

grogdog the lady shouldn't have had to explain her personal circumstances for people to be respectful .......but hat off to u for apologising.
Many people have interest only mortgages for a variety of reasons & it doesn't mean they will NEVER pay it off, some of the offsets operate that way..so pls don't make such harsh judgements.........this is a difficult time for everyone, so let's unite not fight0 -

marshallka wrote: »Thanks for that. I did not understand the abuse. Perhaps we should sell up and move on. I don't know if I will ever work again and earn what i did do. The meds that I had I could not cope with and changed me to a now nervous wreck. I never took even an asprin before. There have been lots of other health probs too in between but not worth mentioning cause I am not after sympathy, just asked a question.
Thanks.
Chin up, good things come to good people.........I am female & an advisor so i really feel for u...their are plenty other people here supporting you also0
