forensic Accountants aren't cheap. £3k won't get you a whole lot of work so I, too, am wondering what it is you have been advised to find with that small a look at the books?

Totally worth you clarifying EXACTLY what is needed to progress (ie, don't get stung twice on advice you don't look into more)
