ceiling ideas

hi all, ideas welcome! We're currently doing up our house and working on the lounge. The wallpaper on the ceiling was in terrible condition so we've removed it and it has left exposed plasterboard. I'm guessing this gives us two options - plaster or wallpaper. Don't think we could do either ourselves, we would rather have it plastered but think this might be quite expensive. Does anyone know what would be the most economical option? We don't want to stay here for a long time so don't want to spend loads but equally want to do a nice job.
Thanks

If you can wallpaper a wall you can do a ceiling.
It just needs a bit of forward planning.
Others may tell you the correct professional way.
But here is my first time diy way.
Make a good platform, correct height is essential.
Couple of workmates and scaffolding boards are ideal.
Then , get help, walk backwards lining up the paper, brushing out , while a second pair of hands holds the rest of the paper. above your head. Take your time.
Can hear the 'mob' rubbishing my method :rotfl: but have ceilings papered to prove it works!0 -
i would have thought that you could get a ceiling done for around £150- ish depends on size etc ask around friends and neighbours builders/ tradesmen for plasterers i would go for plaster over paper any day0
