my partner and my self claim tax credits for two children,we get no work tax credit just child tax credit,it is based on both our incomes which came to around £24500,now my partner who is self employed expects to make a few thousand more than she did last year, will this effect my payments as i don't want them to overpay me,the payments i am getting just now are based on both our incomes from april 2007 till april 2008,and we are also due another baby in january,or will my payments just change accordingly when we renew it in april 2009?any help would be appreciated

Your payments should stay the same even with increase in S/E earnings for the remainder of this tax year; providing your income for this year is under £25000 higher than last year's income, the claim will still be calculated on 2007/2008 income. I'd still suggest giving updated estimated figures for this year now as it will make a difference to next year's provisional entitlement0
