Hi I am posting this for my Dad who has a major system failer:
Following a scan by Avg my computer failed to start and indicated that the file Windows/system32/config/system was damaged or corrupt,The installation disc was not provided by the retailer of the computer,however I have the recovery disc and that did not work.
The operating system is Windows XP
Anyone got any Ideas

can you do system restore to an earlier time when the computer worked? (under control panel)I did this myslef and it is ok now. Any techies out there?0
