I'm still wondering how they're going to deal with my fixed term bond, not due to mature until the end of March 09?

My fixed term bond matures in November, had been waiting anxiously to transfer it all out upon maturity before the collapse. Can only guess that all maturity dates will be treated as the day they folded, too complicated otherwise.

that's what I'm hoping, I know I had tied the money and was happy to leave it for another 6 months, but at this moment in time, I just want it back, safe, you know?

One of mine would have matured tomorrow and I'd already given instructions about its reinvesting - in the easy access account. Keep shifting from just wanting back what's listed on my total statement, to really thinking that I hope we get the full interest to 8th October. Oh well, only time will tell.

Interesting. In their 8th Oct entry they have the following:

"In the case of Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander, FSCS understands that the accounts of about 3,000 eligible retail depositors did not transfer to ING Direct. FSCS will contact these depositors directly in the next week with the help of the administrators and send them an application form to claim compensation."

I wonder why certain accounts didn't transfer versus the majority that did ? Haven't received my ING email yet so maybe I'm one of the minority  Only joking.

As has been discussed repeatedly, these 3,000 accounts were not online accounts (Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander took some deposits outside of the Kaupthing Edge brand).

Thanks for the clarification (it was more out of interest). But don't take offence at my asking the qusetion. It may have been discussed repeatedly but there is a shed load of KE stuff posted, and I simply hadn't come across it in my various other trawlings.

    ;)
