FTSE 100 Banks - what is the position?

There are a number of banks in the FTSE 100, but as their share prices are falling and there is talk of potential nationalisation of parts of the banking sector, surely some of these banks will fall out of the FTSE?

Presumably the FTSE companies are reviewed every so often?

How does that work, and when does it happen?

Sorry if these are naive or basic questions, I'm just trying to understand what is happening.
