From 12th December
Stone Grill
Marble griddle slab with juice collecting channel. On chrome plated metal frame with handles. 2 spirit burner stoves on a stainless steel tray. Size (cm): 43 x 20.3 x 10.8. Price per item. £4.99
Supposedly a tabletop BBQ - doesn't do it for me, but MSE readers are a weird lot, and I've not seen one of these before!

Don't know exactly what I'd do with this, but am off to Lidl's to pick up their magazine and look at a picture - wonder if it would amuse the children whilst we have bbq's in the summer!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000

The reason I posted this was because of something I overheard camping a couple of years ago - Young male to his female partner in the (nylon) tent behind us, "tell me again why you think lighting this (portable) bbq in here is a mistake". It was the Lake District and very wet!0

I have a similar thing to this, got it years ago. It is OK for dinner parties, everyone (well providing there are only about four of you!) puts slices of steak or thin chicken etc on it to grill then you serve them with dipping sauces. No good if you are starving and just want to shovel things in but otherwise fun. It is not of course suitable for cooking a chop on!!Snootchie Bootchies!0

Might be useful when this winters power cuts kick in!!!
Not that I'm a scaremongering journalist or anything :rotfl:0 -
I'm tempted by one of these.....I went to a restaurant here in Poole where the food comes sizzling on a bitg piece of 'volcano' stone and you cook it further on your plate - good fun!
Wouldn't it take ages to heat the marble with the Lidl one? The burners look tiny and a long way from the stone?
Might have a look when they come into the stores....I love cooking so might have to treat myself to one anyway!!!"Stay Wonky":D

We have a pizza stone but we never use it because you have to heat it in the oven for 30 minutes before use, we have tried skimping on the time but if you do it just cools the pizza instead of heating it!
It does make great pizza though, but less than two pizzas an hour it is rather slow....0 -
i once used one of these in the italian alps in an alpine touristy type restraunt. it is just a bit of fun and saves the chef some work as you cook your own steak on the table top.
We are the change we wish to see.0 -
