Icesave-O balance showing, where are my savings?

I arranged to transfer all my funds on Saturday 4th October and this triggered the closure of the account.Funds have not appeared in my bank account and following advice from another thread reset my password on Icesave to look at my account. It is still showing a zero balance so where is my money? How do I go about proving that I had the money?

Have you not had an email stating that your payment didn't go through? I tried to close on Monday morning and got the email Tuesday afternoon.
  • Others, myself included, have had the same. A re-instated account showing 00 balance. The following day the missing funds were showing in the balance. I'm sure the same will happen in the OPs case. Remember it's a weekend, hopefully it will show tomorrow.
OP - did you print out an Icesave statement prior to transferring? That's all the proof you should need plus statement from "receiving" bank showing no deposits during the relevant time period.
    I received no e-mail.

One rule I've always made is to never withdraw the whole balance and close down an account in one go. Always leave £1 in if possible and once your money has arrived safely, then close down the account. However, I tend to leave accounts open with just £1 in in case a new higher rate account comes along in that institution. That way you don't have to send in all the proof of ID documentation again.

Damn! I managed to lock me out of my account. Well, I am pretty sure I used the correct pieces of information, but after several attempts, I had to reset my password and there's where I screwed up, using the wrong email address.
    - any use trying to re-obtain access (I made a copy of my statement 2 days ago anyway)?
-is the customer service still active/answering their phone anyway?
