When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Hi to any new posters and a big shout to the usual gang:j
Today I will:
Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone:D

Reduced mince out for spag bog tomorrow for guests!!
Spoke to WTFC folk yesterday, seems they made a mistake in 2003/4 tax year and underpaid me (wouldnt want to have died of starvation inbetween now and then would you??) so unexpected cash, do you put it to your debts, stick it in savings or what - dunno what to do if its really ours??Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

I've been to Sainsburys for a top-up shop - lots of own brand tomato soup and 7p noodles!
Did a taxi service for a pal last night who put £15 worth of petrol in the car for me as a thank you.
Not much else for me today.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Thats great news about the working tax fay. If it were me i would put half towards the debt, then the half that is remaining i would split it in two and put half of that in an isa and use the other half to get myself and others within my family a well earned treat. But thats only me!!:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j

Funny isnt it - keep hearing Martin in my head telling me its a security blanket and to put it to my debts! something must be going in.
My online saver is 5.2%. (i think)
One loan is 3% so not much point in paying that off? (advice gladly taken)
One loan from a pal, interest free so he doesnt want that back before 2010.
RBS loan is higher interest - but my partners taking that loan on in Nov (in exchange for my car - he said he's happy to do that or let me pay off that RBS loan and he will just deposit the payment into my account)
Wondering about investing a bit of it in my VWcamper to do up inside a bit (investment?!)its a bit scuzzy inside - they don't seem to lose money - and then a plan a trip to daddies next summer in the beast (will be expensive as he lives in Limoges - but what a trip that would be for the younglings?!)
To be honest until i have it in black and white - I don't want to get too excited.
Waving to you all again (and writing honest)
Whats greenmetroplis? just curious.
Heatingsoff til tonight, sitting with pj's under clothes - is that good money saving or just plain lazy??Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Today though i am studying all day and watching telly lol! Mum has just got some chips and burger buns to go with my burgers. My plan for tonight is own takeaway in rather than from shop! Yummy!!!
I dont need to buy anything today then, still have the m and s voucher to spend though tomo! Car is in for its service a bit nervous how much that is going to cost!
I love the way the farm helps with the DFW plan! Its so country! There are a few farms round my way i might go visit this week see the animals!
Re the extra tax cash, i think a good decision. you will do the right thing with it. any extra cash thats unexpected is hard to decide what to do with!
