Get lots of boxes, pack anything and everything you can now. When I moved into my current house I totally underestimated how much stuff I had. I got all the furniture moved by van as planned in two days, however I had to ask for a three day extension on the flat in order to give me time to move all the bits I hadn't packed by car.

During the move, keep with you at all times a small bag containing a kettle, teapot cups, coffee and milk. Then if the move gets a bit to much for you, you can always have a brew up.
  • Um, is it safe to assume you are renting one room at the moment and that's what you are moving?

If so I used to box up by the drawer. Then its easy to unpack the other end.

If it's a whole house and furniture then I fear you've left it quite late. We moved an entire house worth and furniture in one day, but we had started packing 3 days before and that was pushing it.

One tip is keep some biscuits and a kettle, tea bags, coffee, milk etc separate and to hand so you can make a cup of tea when you arrive.

Its also useful to have to hand loo roll, kitchen roll, some disinfectant (incase you want to quickly clean something before putting stuff in it), light bulbs (you never know).
