Best rate on untouchable savings??

Hi
I'm looking for a savings plan that allows me to set up a regular direct debit of around £100 a month, something with a fairly decent rate of interest and something that I can't get my sticky paws on for about 5 years (and maybe something for 20 years?)! Oh yeah, and something that doesn't get gobbled up by tax would be nice too!!!
Does anyone have any sensible solutions?
Many thanks!

A pension?
An ISA (cash or stocks and shares)?Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0 -
Nationwide have some 1, 2 1nd 3 year Xmas bonds, and e-bonds with a decent rate of interest just now. But you'd have to have a lump sum.
Why not go for an ISA, you get 25% more interest because interest is paid tax free?Survivor of debt, redundancy, endowment scams, share crashes, sky-high inflation, lousy financial advice, and multiple house price booms. Comfortably retired after learning to back my own judgement.
This is not advice - hopefully it's common sense..0 -
Scarborough BS has a regular saver ISA paying 6%, max monthly investment £250I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0
