Hi
I've just got a new laptop and don't seem to be able to transfer my itunes library to it.
I've regsitered and authorised my ipod to my new laptop which was fine but now can't transfer my itunes library from my old PC (all music i have uploaded).
I've found an article on the apple website which explains how to do it "How to use your ipod to move music to a new computer". The problem is when i go through the steps it comes up saying there is not enough space (i presume on my old PC to move the files). How do I get round this, I have 198 albums 10GB and will be gutted if i have to upload them all again.
Please help, i'm thinking there must be a simple way of doing this and i'm just being a bit dim. Thanks in advance.

It sounds like your ipod is too small to fit your library PLUS the backup. From what you say, you're trying to put the music on your ipod in a format that you can use to transfer to the new machine, which is gonna double up the space the existing music takes up. This solution is only really doable if your ipod has plenty of room on it (in your case 10gb+ empty space)
This is how I've transferred in the past - Make a copy of the iTunes Music folder on a removable drive, or move that folder on to the new computer via network.
Then on the new computer, open iTunes, then drag the folders from inside into your library. My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
On that article you read, did you see the link to How to back up your media in iTunes. Is that an option?0
