Mariagti - wow £50 a month for food. How do you do it?0
-
Thanks everyone for your constructive comments and I'll take it all on board and let you know how I get on. The hardest part is facing up to it and getting everything down on paper, but I've done that now so i's got to be better from today on right?!0

looking at the SOA and seeing a £600 a month shortfall
then your must
- increase your income considerably... parttime jobs, lodger maybe
- get rid of the car now
- reduce spending as already suggested
even then its not entirely clear whether your outgoing will be less than the income
if they are not then you are best adviced to contact CCCS, payplan, cab and arrange a debt management plan otherwise your debts will continue to grow
until you're forced to default on the debts anyway but with a much higher level of debt.0 -

I was about to ask the same! I manage about £50 a month for one person, but for 3??!
I don't have much to add to what's already been suggested Jellybean, so will just say good luck!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Thanks Clapton, I'm looking into the part-time job option and hope that with Xmas round the corner I'll pick something up in the evening/at weekends. I've considered a lodger too but don't know the best way of doing this safely. Don't want to share my house with someone I don't really know without a decent reference -anyone else dont this?0

lol, sorry typying error! That would be good £50 a month wouldnt it! :rotfl:I actually meant to put £35 a week £140 a month. Cooking things from scratch, we also buy from the local farm shop, you get so much more for your money at the farm shop than say Tesco. Also downgrade on everything possible.
And collect any money off coupons you might get posted through the door or in magazines etc. As in Asda and tesco they normally let you use the money off coupons off your shopping bill even though you havent brought the product, but they have to stock the item in the shop though. We save alot of money doing this, Asda seems the best for taking coupons.

Yes, Numpty Monkey, the meters were installed 2 weeks ago and we'll see how we go with them. I've got visions of sitting in front of the TV enjoying a really good movie and then everything goes kaput cause I've forgotten to top up the card but I'm sure I'll get used to it! Thanks for your support.0
