Problems shutting down

When I am shutting down my PC it attempts to end a program called sprtcmd.exe then I get a message saying it is not responding then I have to click "End now".

This has only happened in the last week - any idea what this is and how I can stop it.

sprtcmd.exe is a process from Belgacom belonging to SupportSoft sprtupdate. This is installed by some ISPs , what ISP are you with ??

also seems to be something Dell use for Dell support center , you could disable it from startup

then it's the Dell support centre , it just checks for driver updates etc (which you can do yourself from windows updates)

use msconfig

to stop it starting, if you ever need it then just use msconfig again and re-tick the item
