Does this mean that you can connect to your own wireless broadband when at home?
Also, would you have to buy the internet add on to the mobile call plan or could you just use Wi-Fi?

Should be able to just use home WiFi (mobile web access call plan will be for GPRS access). You may ned to turn on the WiFi ID broadcast on your router for the phone to pick it up first time. I had to do that to connect the XDA, but it did 'remember' the connection after I'd switched the ID broadcast off again.0

If you have wifi on your phone there is no reason why you can't connect to your wireless broadband at home (or anywhere else for that matter).
Just think of your phone as another PC or Laptop device in your home.
On your phone search for available wireless networks, find yours and then (if you have it set up on your router, highly recommended to do so) put the SSID number in your mobile for a connection.0 -
would you have to pay for the mobile providers internet service for the wi-fi to be active or can you simple just connect at your own home wi-fi even if you haven't got internet access in your call plan?
Would you be charged by the mobile provider for accessing your own home broadband via wi-fi?
we are looking to get the Samsung Omnia if that helps0 -
Connection to your WiFi at home, is as stated above, just like connecting a laptop and so attracts no charge. When away from home some wifi hotspots are free others require you to pay, (but will tell you first). I use mine most for using Skype when away rom home so that I get free calls home.0
