Bathroom Re-Fit Quotation

I am in the process of redoing my bathroom. I have ordered the full bathroom suite in myself, including shower and have had several quotes so far. The most professional and trustworthy being for £3400 for the following work:

1. Remove old water cylinder and piping (moved to combi boiler)
2. Remove old Suite.
3. Plumb in new suite and shower (all controls for bath and shower are ressessed into the wall)
4. Plumb in new towel radiator.
5. Install Underfloor electric heating, wioth contol swith on wall
6. Re-wire extractor fan

I have also been quoted by the same guy, £1300 to tile the whole bathroom which is 25 SQM in total for floor and wall space.

Can anyone let me know if this is reasonable and what coorners could be cut to bring price down - I still want a flawless finish though.

Thanks:rotfl:

  • Don't know about the plumbing side of it, but the tiling is an extortionate price at £52 a metre, I hope for that price he supplying the tiles too?

£30 a metre for Labour only is top whack in my opinion.
    In wood we trust.

    Sounds steep.

We had two quotes of £2800 for a similar-sounding amount of work, including 20m
2 of wall tiling and 3m2 floor tiling. This is without the underfloor heating though, but we are having rewiring for a duel-fuel towel rail. We are in the East Midlands (as there are regional variations). Our chosen fitter is extremely experienced and has fitted my sisters and colleagues bathrooms and is highly recommended. Not only that, Mr P negotiated him down to £2200.

Get some more quotes, I reckon.
