Kaupthing Edge Site Problems

  • :T My large CHAPS transfer in is not showing on my page, so I guess someone is getting nice interest from my savings while I wait (if it ever shows up at all). I have my bank checking the transfer, but I suspect that I will not get through to the Kaupthing Edge call centre when they open on Monday (150,000 other callers!). Anyone else with similar experience? At the end of the day, we are very unlikely to lose our savings (Kaupthing Edge were UK registered and ING Direct are covered in Holland to 100,000E), but it is all such a lot of hassle for savers, when this could be avoided by these two banks at least giving us some sort of explanation for their website anomalies and apparently lost transfers (They say "everything is working as normal with your web accounts" or words to that effect, when this is far from the truth in many cases).

Site doesn't recognise my log in details which I know are right. Am assuming site may reappear as ing shortly.

Same problem here - I just can't log in.
Reluctant to try too many times in case I get blocked.

I've just logged in straight away and have done so with no problems whenever I have noticed posts saying that the site wasn't accessible - so it's not a site-wide phenomenon, maybe related to certain log-in ranges?
  • My heart is still broken from last week hope to see mine next week looking forward. Still worried sign the petition.

ING Direct will be honouring all withdrawals and will continue to work to clear the backlog as quickly as we possibly can. :j Am I daft if I put my money back in ING Direct?.

In fairness, I have to say that at no point in this whole saga have I had any difficulty accessing my KE account online. I have just done so again without a problem.

I haven't tried making any transactions though - as I've next to nothing left in there. I'm one of the lucky few who have seen last Sundays BACS transfers hit their nominated account, thank goodness.

We seem to have a mix of people who can't log on and those who can't make withdrawals. To those struggling to log on, you may be forgetting that the first letter of your memorable word (if you are asked for it) is invariably uppercase - even if you didn't enter it that way when you registered.
  • My large deposit sent by CHAPS on 8th is still not in my KE account. By the way, I managed to login by changing from my original all upper case (capitals) to all lower case, so they are taking the p***. Therefore I suggest trying different ways such as the first letter a capital, etc. I also just received a general (not a personal) email from Ing Direct trying to reassure savers - they must have seen my last post. :rotfl:

Looks like the login process has been changed by ING and you now need a customer number to access their site. Not much use to those of us who used an email address as part of the login. Would have thought that ING would have been clever enough to know they are about to annoy a lot of what might have been potential customers.

  • The website has been 100% operational for me throughout the debacle.

There has been no change to the log in - if you joined ages ago, login is your email address and it then takes you to the next page that asks for security word and lettrers from your password. If you joined more recently, from May I think, they had changed their log in (username is some sort of number that they sent you).

Logged in the same as I did this time last week, with the same details, no problem.

Earlier it had an apology on their home page that they have had a backlog of transfers that they are busy working through (while also no doubt sorting systems and procedures to absorb KE into ING Direct, which can be no easy task as it seemed to take place almost overnight).

I am leaving mine where it is at the moment as it seems as good a place as any?

The login seems to have changed. The KE screen has gone and there is now an ING login which asks for a customer number and surname. The field is too small for an email address - I tried.

I cannot see anywhere on this or the previous screens where you might enter an email address. Happy for any advice on how I might login with an email address, have sent ING a message asking the same question
