Hi All
I have Norton 360 on my laptop. I have just had a pop up telling me that it is due to finish and I need to renew. It is £35 to renew for the year. Is this my best option. I have to say that I've had no problem with Norton.
Thanks
My first post after lurking for so long!!!! HOORAY!!!! :j

People tell me that their anti virus is fine and it never lets anything through. But how would they KNOW? Its been proven throughout this forum that norton isnt too good (And from my own experience it can in fact knacker things up when it tries to 'remove' them)
I would suggest using COMODO FIREWALL ~
http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/download_firewall.html
Untick all the extra stuff when you uninstall
and AVIRA ANTI VIRUS
http://www.download.com/Avira-AntiVir-Personal-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10322935.html
Both free and work fine
If you take this advice then disconnect the net. Uninstall norton (use the removal tool) ~
http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039 Install the firewall. Reconnect to the net then install Avira.
I would also recommend SPYBOT

UPDATE, IMMUNISE and SCAN (scan once a month or so)
and MALWAREBYTES

UPDATE and SCAN (once a month again):idea:0 -
NO NO NO.

firstly, download a free antivirus/firewall solution, plenty of advice/opinions on that subject around here.
then, follow the instructions here to delete norton
.
then install your recently downloaded solutionsUtinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -
A good site for comparing Anti Virus software is at http://www.av-comparatives.org/ I used to use AVG but changed to Kaspersky Anti-Virus and SUPERAntiSpyware

I used to use AVG, until they started charging for it. That was great.
Now I'm using "avast!" which is free and I've had no problems:

Perhaps you should go here and then you may be able to get yourself AVG Free from here. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
