Micro soft don't do free software, any website that allows you to download it is breaking the law.

Have a look at Openoffice, it is free.
  • My problem is... i'm trying to upload my CV into a website and they just accept word or rtf (?) format, if i put my CV in another format.. will it be accepted?

Not entirely true. Certain programming interfaces, eg Visual Basic Express are free from their site.

Are you sure you're using wordpad and not notepad? It saves to rtf by default. Do your document, save, then upload. There really isn't any more to it than that.
