My friendly local Post Office has just told me that their People's Growth Bond Issue 7 will be withdrawn on Monday 13th!!
Get in now, if you don't mind it being held by the Bank of Ireland:D

It is/was 6.75% fixed and the bond started at the date of cheque clearance??
It was withdrawn because it was too popular......

Yes they will backdate interest to day of initial deposit clearance, I deposited into the previous 6a issue on 15th August and they still haven't opened the account yet, so I cancelled it yesterday.

Are National Savings and Investments as slow to open accounts as The Post Office (Bank of Ireland)?? I'm interested in the NSandI Index Linked Savings for my daughter who can lock the money in for at least 1 year.
