Savings under mattress

Just thought it would be worth starting a new thread to discuss mattress options for savings. Which is the best one - double or single? Do any have a 'hole in the wall' facility? Will there be a 'Mattress ISA'? :rotfl:

That is great advice. You should call yourself doberryfirkin Money Saving Expert and use that term before and after your name like its a title, like Prime Minister or something. Go forth onto GMTV and the Internet and give the world your mattress advice. And when 300,000 peoples mattress's burst into flames remind everyone you are not a financial adviser and none of it is your fault and that anyway you warned people of the risks and can hold your head up high.0

A nice big safe that's too heavy to shift and fireproof seems the safest bet for us. Mind you if I smell smoke, I know where I'm going first.....0

I'm not expecting a fire until I've got the insurance all lined up. Sorted.0

Tis a good idea :rolleyes: lets all remove our cash and store it at home then when all the banks fail and the cash becomes worthless paper we can all burn it to keep warm.
Excellent idea! :rolleyes::D
Or we could all stop panicking, leave our money where it is, stop spreading rumours of the next failure in the knowledge that so far the government has backed anyone who has been in danger of losing savings.
We all need to relax and get a grip and help bring a little confidence back!
Lol in fairness I was not too relaxed Tuesday when I thought I had lost a lot of cash with Icesave!:eek::D0 -
Under floorboards is better0

I wonder how long it will be before "Burglar Bill" cottons on to this ethos?
(especialy knowing that the met police have a lot of their crime fighting resource money lost in Iceland!)
