www.mydv.co.uk - WARNING!

Hi,

Anyone heard of this cowboy outfit? As the web address suggests it's a British firm, I (quite) confidently ordered a camera for my daughter. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE!

Yes they been mentioned on the forum recently. I heard its a American company operating in US with UK domain name. I hope you can cancel or if its too late get your order with being overcharged.
  • Hi Poppycat,

Had I known at the time that this was an American web site I would not have bothered - (nothing against our American cousins). This shower are based in Boston (not Lincs!) The 'Sony DVC S80 Cyberlink' I oreder was priced at £112.99 inclusive. When I checked my credit card about a week later I noticed a charge of £120.44, with something about a USD exchange rate. It was then and only then I realised I was dealing with company over in the States. Misleading or what!

The camera itself was ordered on 14 Oct. To this day I have'nt received it. The customer service is dreadful with the same message "We expect to ship your order next week". I've been getting the same message over the last couple of months, on the very rare occassion I actualy get a response!

I've been emailing like hell trying to get a response to my cancelation without success. As it happens, Comet are doing the exact same camera for £125.99!

I think you have ecery right be be angry any reasonable person would be. I woudl contcat my credit card company assuming you have used one for the purchase a file a complaint. Hopefully get your money back. I woudl also contcat the shoddy company via email and informing them that they are not entitled to increase teh costs of teh goods as a contrcat was formed and that you havent erceoevd the good in a reasonable time period. You will reject any goods should they arrive and that you will files a complaint with you credit card company.
