Hi I have just got a new ipod and wanted to use the BEST interface possible (it needs to be reliable). I like the idea of drag and drop if poss to prevent duplicates etc.
I wondered if anyone had tried Anapod? or something else you would recommend?

I like and use Anapod, though I've not tried anything else for a few years. RedChair (makers of Anapod) are a pain to deal with though... over restrictive licencing and !!!!py website. When I got a second iPod, I got a new authorisation code - which locked me out of the first iPod. I was certain Anapod is allowed for multiple iPod but couldn't find any info on the website. RedChair eventually responded to my emails with a new licence code which solved the problem. This was at least two years back, so may not be relevant anymore.
Their Pod Backup application is excellent!
I liked to concept of Yamipod (it lives on your iPod, so it's always available on any PC) but I had trouble making it work when I tried.0 -
Thanks for the reply.
What would you say the top 3 advantages of Anapod ?
Do you need something like Anapod to drag and drop files to the ipod?
My daughter has a few mp4 files that are in itunes and never seem to appear on her ipod no matter how many times she syncs!0 -
i personally swear by floola - it's a very simple, straightforward interface that lets you drag and drop music on to the ipod and manage your playlists and everything else very easily.
the ID3 tag editing is also top notch as well and allows multiple songs to be edited and updated at once.
i wouldn't use any other ipod utility - i'd only ever install itunes if i needed to restore my ipod.0 -
Best thing about Anapod... it's not iTunes. I heard and read so many things about iTunes that I just avoided it from the outset.I just want software that can move music on and off my iPods, and nothing else. No hassles with multiple ipods and multiple computers (except the licence issue noted before, which was irritating but easily solved).
I installed itunes only to setup and install the latest software version. I did that on a 'disposable' PC at work (a PC that was about to get formatted anyway).
Built in tagging is functional, but keeping my music as an MP3 library means I load the ipod from the same library that my (linux) jukebox plays from. Only one set of tags to sort out, and only one backup to do. This gets more important as your collection size increases...0 -
i've used floola and yamipod and while they are both quite similar, i honestly think floola is better.
either way, they're both good and as everyone has said - neither of them are itunes
