Saturday 11/10/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Hi to any new posters and a big shout to the usual gang:j

    DEBT FREE - MARCH 2012 - NOW JUST THE MORTGAGE!
    MFW 2012 No.148:£1600 / £450.00
    Mortgage - 102,57.16
  • I've just done a car quote on Gocompare through Quidco for my £2 cashback (and a genuine interest if a relatively new Fiat 500 is cheaper to insure than an 8yr old Beetle and it is by £200 a year!);
    Meeting a friend today for a catch up (will opt for the filter coffee to save a pound or so);
    May spend the £10 HMV voucher I got from Valued Opinions.

    Disclaimer - any thought of buying a relatively new Fiat 500 are not going to be actioned on until next year when the credit record is a bit better and my remortgage has been done!!!
    Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

    Morning all!
    First day of hols today and we have OH DS staying for weekend - we will be going for a walk on hills and through woods today and see if we can pick up anything on the way (particularly thinking of conkers, pine-cones and maybe some crab apples). This afternoon will go swimming (using Gym Swim pass before it runs out). Double exercise today! They always let OH DS in for free as we adults both have membership. Other MS things to do/done today are:-
    * Daily Free Scratchcards
    * Piggy clicks (none there but entered a couple of comps and found I had enough points to get a Waterstones voucher)
    * Tried again to get Home Insurance through cash back site. Tomorrow is cut off point. Very, very disappointing! Last try tonight.
    * 30 degree wash on - hope to hang it outside before long walk
    * made sandwiches for walk but no treats in house
    * make bread and
    * toad in the hole for tea.
    Have a great day everyone.

    Oh yes! Who was making Xmas cakes yesterday for £15 for 10? Am I having delusions? If its true can I please have the recipe - I only want one and haven't made it because couldn't justify cost of ingredients at the moment.
