They are deadlocks - if the handle hasn't got a keyhole in it and the lock is seperate with a small cover (escutcheon plate) on it. yes, that looks like the sort of thing, fitted into an old solid wood door. Do you know whether it is possible to swap one without messing up the door? My mum recently had it all stripped down and re-painted.0 -
is there any cost difference if added a 2nd lock, rather than replace the original?Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..

hmm, thanks for the idea but she had two locks and had one removed and filled in when she had the door tidied up and repainted. I would rather not mank about with the look of the door too much!0
