I brought a Geforce 6200 256 MB Ram from PC World at the weekend for £59 so that my son can play the star Wars Battleground 2 on the PC ( For a Christmas present ) .
I thought this was quite a good buy at the time but am considering taking it back ( it's unopened ) because I noticed that it is already below the minimum spec of 1 or 2 games on the market. Any recommendations for the best 3d Graphics card ( for an AGP slot ) at about this price ?

Posted this yesterday - easily the best at this price is the refurbished 9800 pro from Retek . They are excellent to deal with. I've bought probably in the region of 15 cards from them for various machines. The 9800 pro is in the region of 6600GT performance wise.
Its a bit of a marketing ploy by various firms advertising graphics cards with 256mb. The 6200 doesn't really have the processing power to take advantage of all that memory.0 -
Have a look at this recent comparison: http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=28135
Prices are in $ but it is useful for ranking the different cards.0 -

without starting some nvidia v radion war here, the 9800 pro is not in the region of the 6600gt performance wise.
