Why laser? Colour laser printers even the bottom range ones are very expensive. Is it for professional use? If not then most opt for inkjet.0

There is a review in this weeks Computer Active Magazine £1.40, they did a similar review in April 04 which can be found:

hope this helps0 -
You may be able to get at this review in the US magazine PC World (no relation, thank heavens!)... They liked the Dell cn3000, obtainable -- yes, you've guessed it! -- from Dell!
But the previous comment from "lush walrus" rings true -- colour lasers cost £lots and their toner cartridges cost £lots. You would probably only get one if you do a lot of printing.

Which? recommends the Epson Aculaser C1100.
Best online price I've seen is about £206 via https://www.pricerunner.co.uk
Which? says it is low cost, typically £50 pa compared to inkjets which can cost £130 - £300 pa. Supposed to be a good all-round performer.0 -

I have had the Epson C1100 since last September and it has been an excellent high quality printer. Yes the consumables are expensive, but the first set included with the printer lasted reasonably well. I purchased the high capacity toners instead of the standard size when I had to and found the best prices at PC world business web site

Not checked any other sites since for toner supplies & their prices, I'm sure others will come up with suggestions.0 -
As said in prevoius posts the budget colour laser printers cost alot to run. The higher end ones are slightly cheaper but that is the same with all printers the more you outlay in the beginning the carts are slightly cheaper.
I have a HP colour laser 2550 and the toners are about £60 each remember that there are 4 of those in there the imageing drum is about £100.
I just did a status print to see what the usage is
black estimates ~7500 pages
cyan estimates ~2150 pages
magenta estimates ~2150 pages
yellow estimates ~1640 pages
the drum estimates ~10000 pages
so you can pretty much ignore all the numbers they say you get from a toner of 5000 pages at 5% becasue no one ever expects to get that out of them these are real figures.
The drum lasts 20000 pages I think on the guide but for each colour black cyan magenta and yellow the page goes through the drum 4 times so if you print 5000 pages colour that is the drum life over with. a black page it only goes through once. giving you 20000 black pages.
Personally I wouldnt be without it, the benifit of getting highspeed and high quality prints every time is worth it. but the yellow toner runs out pretty quick.0 -

Skippy64, I have heard mixed reviews of this printer. Please could you confirm what the picture quality is like for say a 30+ glossy catalogue run containing a mixture of photos and gifs?
Thanks2 heads are better than 1….unless they are on the same body!0
