My new ISP has provided me with a preinstalled SpeedTouch 716v5 wireless modem/router which works fine and has me happily connected...however
The signal from the Speedtouch is weak and doesnt reach my bedroom.
With my previous connection I had a dlink modem connected to a Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless router/access point and the signal would reach all corners of the house.
I have attempted to connect the Speedtouch to the Linksys so as to use the Speedtouch to feed internet to the Linksys as the router.
I currently have the Speedtouch modem/router set as 192.168.1.254 and all the default settings and have LAN to LAN connection with the Linksys which has its IP set as 192.168.1.1. I have disabled DHCP in the linksys.
Now, for some strange reason, not all the computers are able to connect to the Linksys router. All computers detect them, but only some are able to actually connect to them.
What should the settings be? for the MAC clone, DHCP, DNS, IP etc etc?
And I am not even sure I have done it all correctly.
What is the best way of connecting these together and what settings should they have?
Thanks for the help in advance.
