I got a similar one of these from mymemory.co.uk about 3 months ago (it was about £15 then) and it's stopped working now. Do you reckon i'll be able to get them to swap it even though I don't have any of the original packaging left?0

They are much better than a year or so ago. People used to get stung for import duty but Jersey (Think thats where they are from) is now in the EU.
Ordered a few things and all arrived ok.0 -
simes wrote:Yes but if you put 512mb of music on and there is no folder navigation or even shuffle play you will end up listening to the same few tracks every time ( the ones it plays first). Unless you press the track forward button a hundred times !!!
At least if it had shuffle you could jump to a random track.
£8.99 + £18 ( approx) for a 512MB card + postage is not a no-brainer !!!
Is about the same price as a 512Mb player from Currys or PC world ( Matsunichi at £29.99) that has WMA playback , ID3 tag display ( so if you do skip forward a few tracks you know what the track is instead of having to wait till you recognise the music) ,shuffle and lots of other features the £8.99 player does not have.
I know which i would go for..
Simes. . we obviously have different criteria for assessing 'no-brainers'.
How can you be so sure about the available functions? Have you read the recent reviews? Take this one for example :
"A definite improvement over the original version is the addition of a random replay option. " Other reviews also suggest that this model now has decent file management.
At 8.99 it's not only a no-brainer but a complete zero vital organs. period.0 -
anybody know how big an sd card this will take?i am going to take a chance on this as it works out another 33% off with the free p&p0

bennnneb, you're better off going for the 1MB MP3 player with expandable memory (SD/MMC memory cards) for £24.99 from Somerfield/Kwiksave.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

I did buy two of these for presents, A really great little thing for the money & It works fine with a 1GB card.."If toast always lands butter-side down, and cats always land on their feet,
what happens if you strap toast on the back of a cat and drop it?"0 -
I bought one of these 7dayshop ones when the postage was free. It works fine with the 1Gb card I bought for £35. As with all these things, there are pros and cons. I bought it as a cheap device for listening to music while jogging. The Solid-state memory means no skipping or damage and the high capacity and random-play features mean I get a selection of different tunes each time from a large compilation rather than the same songs over an over. The use of SD cards means I can keep other albums on other cards and take them with me when I travel. I only have a tape player in the car dashboard, so can have scores of albums to hand in the MP3 player and use it via an adapter. Ideal for my requirements.
However, there are disadvantages too. The thing locks up immediately if you have more than 100 tracks in the root directory, so you have to create folders to store each set of 100 tracks in. There is no file management as such, so you can't easily find the tracks you want to listen to if you have hundreds on there. Not a problem for me because I just want it to play a random selection from my favourite tunes, but a problem if you regularly seek particular tracks/artists. Also, while the sound quality is decent enough for my requirements, the equaliser is not worth using. When running, the nuances of tone and clarity aren't an issue, and in the car I can use the stereo's own treble/bass controls to suit my tastes. Audiophiles migiht not be so impressed.
If you are not fussed about navigation or equaliser controls then the 7dayshop one is a bargain. If you want greater navigation functionality or sound adjustment then the Medion one looks terrific, even at £50.
Hope that helps somebody.0
