Now Q, I know you are going to say that I am batty (and that is okay cos I am:D ) but did you know that you can ask mice to leave?
That Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall bloke did it on his TV programme with the smallholding in Devon, River Cottage - he had mice, and this lady came and "asked" them to leave, really nicely - and apparently they went!
Now I haven't tried it - they would have to be Japanese mice to come near my cat infested house:D - but it seemed to work for him. You are supposed to tell them they are lovely but that you just cannot have them in the house and can they move on please.
Let me know if it works - and NO I have not been drinking. It really was on River Cottage."there are some persons in this World who, unable to give better proof of being wise, take a strange delight in showing what they think they have sagaciously read in mankind by uncharitable suspicions of them"(Herman Melville)0 -

I shall certainly ask the little blighters to pee off!
Or is that too impolite?
And yes, you ARE batty but that's how I like ya.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
I'll sell you Spaghetti for the bargain price of £103.49 - the cost of his latest vet's bill. :money:
I've already told him I can get a brand new cat for a tenner. :rolleyes:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

I've tried a humane one. it is just a long cuboid box. It worked for a small field mouse but not for a full grown yucky mouse!
By the way, they like CHOCOLATE best!! Honest.:eek:0 -

One of these would be fairly humane -the mouse only gets one go at it0 -

sorry Q I don't know anything about electric devices but remember someone saying that peppermint oil keeps them away - you don't have to worry if they would drink or lick on it because they won't - they only keep themselves miles away from the smell. Just sprinkle some of it in some cotton absorbable cloth and stick it in a couple of corners.0 -

Oooooh thanks meher, I shall certainly try that. I do prefer spearmint personally, but if it has to be peppermint so be it.
Sorry no stamford, I won't kill helpless little mice so thanks for your advice but I will pass on it...
By the way, no signs of any mice today, and I checked all the places carefully!Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0
