Ran Ccleaner - now need advice

I do like CCleaner's registry cleaner. I've never encountered any problems when using it.
I do use another program, called Regseeker, from time to time. It does a very thorough scan of the registry, and cleans what most other registry cleaners won't clean. Having used it myself this week, on this very machine I am working on - I can honestly say I've not noticed any problems since then.
As per what common sense dictates, always save a backup when the program asks you. It's usually when you think "oh I never any problems, so I'll skip the backup", you get loads of problems.
:D Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.0 -
All those years ago (about 3
) when I started messing with computers, I used the CC registry cleaner and ended up with 3 different programs opening every time I tried to use a certain HSE CD-ROM.
However I did get hold of an outdated version of Registry Mechanic for free via this site.
I've used that to clean up various PC's with no problems.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Just run Regseeker and it's found over 1800 entries it says I don't need. I've selected the backup option and I can identify most of the programs as stuff I've got rid of in the past.
Can I safely(!) allow Regseeker to cleanup all entries or should I unselect the entries I can't account for?
Just a quick addition, the entries either show "Obsolete entry", "Invalid ActiveX/COM entry (CLSID)", "File or path does not exist", "Extension not used", "Open with entry unused" or "Invalid service". I think that covers all of them.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0 -

Ccleaner is the ONLY registry cleaner I would ever advise using. Ive had problems with every other one ive used (And ive tried quite a few out)
One even managed to destroy internet explorer! So my advice is to leave it be:idea:0
