  • Hi, thanks for the reply; it's the whole process really. Those websites use so much finanance jargon that I just couldn't see my way through it. There was one with a tutorial (not Selftrade) in an American accent and we did part one ok. Then inpart two he might as well have been speaking Martian - I couldn't understand a word of it - all jargon - so I gave up at that point :confused: I couldn't cope with trying to familiarise myself with the jargon + try to get to grips with the software simultaniously.

    I think I'll try just walking into the banks on Monday and see what sort of response I get from them. I've decided that it really isn't worth saving up loads of money for a rainy day so I'm taking a year off work and I'm going to spend most of it while I've still got it and I'm quite happy to gamble some of it on the stock market.

    I know I probably seem stupid to most of you but I'm not - generally - I'm just completely ignorant regarding the terms used in financial trading.

    there are lots of companys taht are at rock bottem prices at the moment.
    Iv started dipping my toe in again.. Been buying some banks up. I think the price of these in five yers time will look very cheep. The banks shares are nearly at bottem i think...
    As for retail im going to wait untill about this time next year. Therse shares still have more to drop. As people spend less over the next few monthns..
    Iv sold anything iv got to do with oil as noe the price of oil is droping profits are going to go down. Iv done well on these as i brourt them 18 monthns ago before thay really strted to go up. Done well with the divs on thses too.

    I think the FTSI 100 is now close to bottem if we have not already got there on friday!!! Maybe a FTSI tracker fund would do well now?????? I might have a think about that as this yaer i have not used up my isa
