I have 4 monthly interest savings accounts Bradford Bingley Bank of Scotland Alliance & Leicester & HSBC all with under £50k how do I know who belongs to who I am worried that if one fails I would lose out because they may belong to the same owners

If you take a look at the Are Your Savings Safe article and scroll down to the "What counts as a bank?" table, you should be able to tell what counts as an institution, for FSCS purposes.
