Hello,
Just thought people might like to know about my particular experience with timelines and acceptance rates for Ulster Bank Gold card and M&S card in case they're thinking of applying for these.
My existing 0% purchases card is coming to an end, so I thought I would get the Ulster Bank Gold card to transfer my balance off my current card (at 6 months 0% with no fee), and get the M&S for new spending (it's 10 mths at 0% with M&S reward points).
I thought my chances of getting accepted for both or even one were very low. I applied for 7 cards all on the same day in July, and only got accepted for 2 (both MBNA cards). But, I applied anyway, and lo and behold I got accepted for both Ulster and M&S.
Ulster gave me a credit limit of £3,000 which as with most other people got increased to £3,600 when I asked (thanks guys for the tip!). I applied online on 15 September and the card arrived 8 October (so 23 days to arrive). The BT showed up on my current card that same day (as I specified it in my application).
M&S as well I applied for online on 15 September as well and it arrived today (so 25 days to arrive).
I already have an HSBC card so I don't know if that helped my M&S application.
I hope this helps someone who is wondering how soon before the end of their 0% period they should apply for a new card.
