Health Questions for life insurance

I am looking to take out term life insurance for myself (50) and husband (54) to run for 13 years until our youngest is 22. Trouble is that although both of us are pretty healthy the initial quotes bear no resemblance to the final one after we have answered a mountain of health questions. Any health issues we have are not life limiting but I think the companies are using any excuse to bump up the premiums. Eg- I am on statins for inherited high cholesterol but have absolutely no other risk factors and am disgustingly healthy with a now normal cholesterol level. My Dr even said I didn't really need to take them because I was very low risk overall!
I am worried that when we are asked about every single visit to the doctor in the last 5 years that if we miss out telling of a visit for a throat infection it may be used to disallow any claim even if not relevant!
To cut to the point I am looking for life insurance where only crucial health questions are asked and if these are answered clearly then full cover is assured. I am certain that as far as crucial issues go both of us are very low risk so I don't intend paying over the odds when both of us hope to live to a ripe old age and never claim.
Any suggested companies please!

All insurance companies ask similar questions. If you have health conditions that may impact on acceptance terms, then it is a good idea to see an IFA or whole of market protection advisor. An experienced one will know which companies to use. Some of the cheaper ones are priced on "clean" applications and class 1 occupations. Any change to that, albeit small, can create a price increase. Those are the ones to avoid.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
