Incapacity benefit credits only

Hi - I have a question and I hope someone can help :-)

I have been on Incapacity benefit since august 2005 till now. I attended the medical referee in July 2006 and was told I wouldnt be called back till July 2009 for a review...

Can anyone let me know is this ni credits only claim for the duration of the claim? Also I am now undergoing tests for Lupus - which will add to / change the reasons of my incapacity.

Would ther be a chance of actually ever getting any benefit paid if the diagnosis of the new illness is true?

If you are on an NI credits only claim this is because you have not paid enough NI in the past so the claim is not going to change.

If you have a new diagnosis this will not make any difference because it is the NI that you have paid they are concerned with to begin with and not the illness when they look to see if you qualify for IB based on your contributions.
