Group Interview [Anyone work for Clarks??]

Ahh Ive been invited to a 'group interview' in a couple of weeks, for a new Clarks shoe store. Im a single mum and been out of work for 3 years, now DS has started fulltime school its time to get back out. But Im really nervous as Ive been out the working loop for a few years.
Ive never done a 'group interview' before, Im guessing its based on team building, that sort of thing? Anyone been to one before, or know a lot about them and what they entail?
What should I be prepared for?
What should I wear?
Anyone work for Clarks and can advise me what they're looking for at the group interview??
Thanks in advance!!!

Hiya, congratulations on the assessment/interview! I've never done one for or worked for Clarks, but I did do one for Asda. Dress smart but casual, maybe black boots/shoes & trousers & a nice top? Clean hair & nails etc, not caked in make up, just presentable & clean should be ok. With Asda they had us work in pairs & a group, I think they were looking to see if we sat back & let the others organise it all, whether we contributed, listened to others ideas, things like that. It was such fun & time flies by! They'll probably give you a roleplay type exercise to do, normally these are easy & just to see how you react to things. Good luck & i'm sure someone with more knowledge will be along soon!
From another site: From what I remember it was a group interview and we were split into two groups. Each group was given scenarios with customers wanting shoes for specific occassions and you had to pick a shoe and say why it was suitable etc. I think they also did this with handbags and other accessories.0 -
Ooh thanks hun! Which site did you get that extra info from?

Edit: Just googled and found it thanksx

I'll check! I just googled something like Clarks shoes assessment, or interview. That's all the person said. I bet you'll find it fun, I was terrified about my Asda one & they began by introducing themselves & talking on & on & on  about the company & making us laugh & everyones in the same boat so will be nervous too! Wonder if you should wear Clarks shoes tho lmao0

I did a group interview for GAP (clothes), and had to do several tasks, including a focus group discussing something (make sure you listen as well as contribute, and if no one looks like they want to lead it, then do so yourself), a walk round the shop discussing ways I'd improve it, and role plays (awkward customer).
I dressed smart/casual (but more on the smart side!), as was everyone else.
Do your best to research their products in advance, and find out who their customers are. And remember, the customer is ALWAYS right!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Have just been doing a bit of googling on 'group interviews'.
Am a bit worried over what to wear?! I dont own a suit of any kind and dont have the money to buy one in time. Any suggestions?
Edit: Have just called and made an appointment with my lone parent advisor for next wednesday, about getting some money for new interview clothes.
Still need advice on what sort of thing to wear tho ahh!\\ Debt Free April 2008 //\\ Single Mummy to 1 boy - 4 years & 5 months old //\\ Last weeks spend: £139.39 - 2 NSDs //0 -
For a nice suit, try charity shops!! You can often pick up something quite nice for about £10!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

How about Asda/Tesco/Sainsburys for the suit/interview clothes. Or Next clearance. I wear loads of Asda stuff for work and people always comment on how nice it is. A pair of trousers and a top will do fine.
Or could you borrow something?MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090
