  • I list a lot of things at 99p, but there are quite a few that I wont accept less than a certain price so thats where I start the price off, I would rather pay a small insertion fee than be mad at myself afterwards

    Hi all,

Have read this whole thread and am amazed at how well your all doing. I have quite abit to put on ebay but i hate doing the description.

This thread has inspired me to revise my items that i have on ebay and put a better discription in.

Any tips for writing them, pretty please.

Oh and one question, p+p. Ok i do abit of guess work with it. I do weigh the item using my kitchen scales, then add about 50p to £1 extra just incase, also use the postage finder. Do you guys send all your items recorded delivery.?
I have looked at other items selling the same as mine but all the p+p charges are all so different. Any advice gratefully recieved.

Oh and im surprised you all have things left in your house, the amount you ebay.

    Thanks all for inspiring me.

welcome magical and good luck ebaying.

my descriptions all have the same look - i use good bold headings and detailed descritpions where i can. other people use templates and other fancy things but i dont have time for that unfortunately.

    Hi

Still got a cold, nose is running all the time and my throat hurts, no new listings today but have relisted 17 items, have lots more to relist tomorrow. I sold quite a few things today totalling £64.72, awaiting payment for 8 items. I had 72 items finish today so am spreading the relists out over a few days.

    Got lots more finishing tomorrow.

can anyone give me advice about 99p listings? i list most things at 99p but sometimes things sell for 99 p which I would have rather withdrawn than sold. what is the best thing to do? Should i list at the price i would be happy to sell at or what? any advice welcome!

    Hi mrscmr

I tend to list things that I don't think will sell at 99p like books, some clothing, then I can just keep relisting until it sells and it's not cost me anything. I do tend to put a start price of the minimum I want for something, I'd rather pay 10p or 15p to list something and be happy with what I get for it, my view is that if I want £2.99 for something and I get £2.99 I would be happy, if it gets more than one bid then all the better.

  • Quick question from me.

Has anyone set up their account so that it will give a postage discount on multiple items? If so, what discount do you give? Do you deduct a percentage ie 50% of the postage on the second item or do you add 50p/£1 for each additional item. I sold some comics earlier to someone who has bought off me lots of times before but she always pays before I get chance to combine the postage and packing costs, I do specify on the listings to request an invoice, so now I will have to refund her and it's such a pain to do it this way so wanted to set it up so that it will automatically give a discount when they go to pay.

Hope that makes sense, it's late and I'm ill and I just want to make things a bit easier for myself.

    TIA

    Hi TMD,
I don't offer postage discounts as I charge so little for postage!
Where I have sold a number of magazines for example, I put at the bottom of the listing how much 1, 2 and 3 magazines would cost in postage.

Hope you get better soon :o

Found out last night that I had relisted 40 odd items and when 20 had finished, 5 had sold  and I relaly needed to be doing revision notes today rather than packing :rotfl:

    Catch up soon.
