integrated fridge/freezer

I desperately need some help, my self defrosting freezer has frozen, up because the door doesnt seem to have any suction. I have removed the drawers and tried to carefully remove excess ice, hoping this would resolve the problem. But it hasnt. I cant find a switch to just turn the freezer off, can anyone make any suggestions, (relevant) please.

It seems that now the door has no suction to it, it just opens and closes like a normal cupboard door, but I think its because the top drawer is slightly sticking out.

just switch the unit off at the wall socket. then let it defrost.
more than likely, that will cure your problem, and it will work ok again.
(you may possibly need a new door seal).

(i use cool bags and the MIL/DD freezer to keep the food in, whilst defrosting).
    Get some gorm.

    Hi Frankie,

If you have a read at this it may help you to find what's causing the problem. To help much more I'd need to know what machine it was.

There should be a wall switch for the appliance as it SHOULD be connected to a fused spur that's switched on the wall but, some fitters are a bit lazy and don't do that.

Other than that you should be able to switch it off using the thermostat in the fridge, if it's that type, or the control panel at the top.

  • I cant seem to find any switches, but think the best thing to do is to just turn the whole thing off, including the fridge, then assess the door!
