Can you get buildings and contents insurance together cheaper than paying separately.

Can you reduce the trips in the car at all - where can you walk to instead.

What do you do for phone line? I must've missed that one - or is it it included in internet expenses?

i forgot about the council tax, will definately do that in the morning !! thank you cos my heads a bit messy at moment and i think the more i write the figures down the more it upsets me. Ive just realised ive missed off all my credit !!

    loan - £235 per month (balance £10k)
Virgin - I was paying £525 per month (balance is (9k) - interest free until next June and I think min payment is actually about £50
Egg - £90 per month (minimum payment)

My ex partner said he would send £500 every month for my son (he earns approx. £100k) but guess what, he got paid, said he needed the money for himself and added up some food he had paid for a few weeks before and said I'd had some from him for this month really so I guess Im not gonna get owt from him at all (we split up a couple of years ago and I got nothing from him then for 8 months)

    :rotfl:

    Relax.

Writing it down is the most important bit. It gives you 'ownership' of the situation. 'Knowledge is power' and once you know your real position you can address it in a meaningful way.

Loads of support here, keep posting and we'll all keep trying to help.

    Hi,

just wanted to say welcome & good luck. Definitely seek legal advice on claiming maintenance from your ex if he refuses to contribute voluntarily.

  • i could only get buildings and contents insurance £2 cheaper and i'd never heard of the company so i stayed with the one that seemed a decent policy and i knew they were pretty reputable

my car trips are down to minimum really, i drive 3 miles to sons nursery every weekday morning and then another 10 miles onto work and same trip in reverse at the end of the day. i probably use the car for either a day out on saturday/sunday each week and in the past its been about £130 a month but ive got to just cut down now
I can walk to a local park which i do at the weekend with my son, other than that i live next to 3 main roads and 2 motorways so nowhere really to walk - work is just too far as nursery opens at 7.30 and i have got to be at my desk at work at 8.15 so its like a time trial as it is every morning and night !!
  • how could i get legal advice ? a girl at work told me not to bother with csa cos it'll never work but im not sure if he found out i was going to contact them and they didn't get anything then he would def never send me anything again (he's quite an aggressive, angry, controlling person) so i am tempted to leave it and be grateful if he sends £50 or something ???

Did you try speaking to your employers to trade some of your lunch break for a later start and/or an earlier finish
  • In order for everything else to work you need to notify CSA - thats the way it works, or doesnt. Haha.

I've been down the route of not notifying and it isnt worth it. Make sure everything is in black and white. If daddio is an adult he'll appreciate you need to be able to live, and if you show cooperation with CSA they'll be more likely to help you in other aspects in my experience.
