Ridding unwanted download

I have recently been trying to clean my computer, with alot of help from you guys at this wonderful forum. But I seem to have downloaded, or put on my machine: 1 click PC fix
I can't seem to get rid of it. It's on my welcome page. It covers all the other bits i want to click on. I just can't seem to shift it. I'm sure i'm looking in the wrong place. Can anyone help. Thanks

Presumably you've tried an uninstall from Control Panel/add remove programs?
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

did it say what bits? Some programs leave log files behind when you uninstall, try looking in the folder where is was installed (probably the last directory in c:\program files, when sorted in date order)

Hello, i've tried both ways and it's still saying :

    Can not delete. Access denied.
Make sure the disk is not full or write protected or file is currently in use.

I just can't shift it!!! please help!

what is the filename you are trying to delete? Try starting up in safe mode (hit F8 at boot), and then do it again. Do you have the program running, if so, close or kill it in task manager, then try the uninstall?

Pocket KillBox is a program that can be used to get rid of files that stubbornly refuse to allow you to delete them

Download this file, extract it, and run the killbox.exe file. When it loads type the full path to the file you would like to delete in the field and press the Delete File button (looks like a red circle with a white X). It will prompt you to reboot, allow it to do so, and hopefully your file will now be deleted.

but make sure you really want to remove it first !!

hit ctrl alt del, and click task manager.

you have to reboot and hold down F8, just as windows is starting, in order to start in safe mode, what o/s are you using 98/XP?

Have you actually uninstalled the software, and are trying to delete some left over files in explorer? If so, try browntoa's suggestion, if that doesn't work, pursue the safe mode option.

An indication of what exactly you are doing when you get the message, and what the filename is would help diagnosis..

    remove it this way

Please uninstall the current version by navigating to the Start button -> Programs -> 1 Click PC Fix folder and executing the Uninstall 1 Click PC Fix shortcut. (after the uninstall is completed, please navigate to the \Program Files folder to verify that the 1 Click PC Fix folder has been removed. If it hasn't, please delete it.)
