Thread Pruning

The site is very slow to load most times during the day and we're on a fast stable connection. I appreciate that a lot of older threads have substance and value and share a LOT of knowledge to other MSE'rs, but cannot help but think if others were pruned a few times a week - just inconsequential threads (at a moderators/site guides discretion based upon the content) that it would free up a bit of space allowing people to move faster through the forum!
