How to get Sky on 2 TVs?

Hi
We have 2 TVs, both digital.
We have Sky, and want to be able either TV to receive the Sky signal so we have more flexibility eg can watch sky sports in either room, and freeview in the other.
We don't want to watch 2 different channels at once (ie we don't need multiroom).
So I'm sure there is a way to connect the TVs to the one receiver so either TV can watch a Sky channel while the other watches Freeview. Am I right?
Any help gratefully received...

If your not mega bothered with the quality, the RF (aerial) OUT socket can be connected to the 2nd tv and tuned to that frequency (As if you were watching ANALOGUE tv):idea:0

Thanks, but then both TVs would need to watch the same thing I think.
I was hoping that they could both either watch the Sky, or one could watch Freeview at the same time.....0 -
It will do. One would be connected via scart, and the other via the aerial lead but both would be watching the same programme.
If you want one free for freeview, just plug the freeview scart in whichever tv you want (Or are you saying you want them BOTh to be able to watch sky OR freeview?):idea:0 -
We have ours set up through a booster/splitter box (maxview) in the loft. So cable comes into the sky box, back through the wall and up into the loft. in the loft is the box, also into which tv aeriel goes. then wires go back to tvs as normal. Sky in all rooms that have a tv socket, along with freeview with those that have seperatre box.
We paid an company to do it as we wanted two extra sockets in dining room and bedroom and they suggetsed doing this at the same time.0 -
Ok
well
I cant guarantee this would work but in theory it might.
Plug the main aerial into the freeview. There SHOULD be an RF out ~ plug that into the sky box.
Plug a scart from the freeview into your main tv and ditto the skybox.
Plug an aerial from the RF out from the skybox into the secondary tv.
The 1st tv will use scarts to view either. The 2nd tv will (hopefully) pick up both freeview AND sky via the aerial lead (Auto scan for the frequencies)
If that doesnt work the only other thing I suggest is plug a scart from the VIDEO OUT of the sky box into the secondary tv (But it will be COMPOSITE only). And the aerial from the freeview box into the secondary tv. (mains scarts from either into the main tv)
Hope you understand this!
What I ACTUALLY suggest though is have 2 freeview boxes (One for each tv) and use the skys RF out for the 2nd tv.:idea:0 -
The freeview is in the TV - digi Tvs, rather than boxes, will that still work, but just skipping the box and using the TV instead?.0

ahhhh
I see
Just split the aerial signal (Dont use a booster) using a splitter. And use the VIDEO OUT scart from the sky to the secondary tv.
OR
use a splitter, one to the main tv. The other THROUGH the sky box and into the second tv.:idea:0 -
Hi,
What about a digisender. Just plug it into the back of your Sky box and plug the reciever into the TV you want Sky on, saves trailing wires about your house. Heres a link to one of them that I am thinking of getting, they're a bit pricey though ! -:

You could purchase a tv link/magic eye to watch the same channels in different rooms or purchase a wireless receiver. You can't be lost if you don't know where you're going.0
