LOST (complete first season)

Another example of rip off Britain! The complete first series on Region1 NTSC US disc comes with 25 complete episodes(US $30) whereas the UK version comes with just 12 for £24.99!!

Apparently the Benelux,French and German versions are all region 2 with English option available(just French/German writing on box) so these are the best option to get unless you want to wait until next year for the second part of the UK version and pay another £24.99!

Just need to find somewhere that will ship to the UK from Europe now.....anyone know off a company that will do this??

hi, i got the set from blahdvd i think it was about £33, it is ntsc though, but we backed the discs up on my pc and changed the region so the backups play ok on our dvd player, that may be an optionf or you, otherwise, good luck with the european imorts :) perhaps try ebay with european search option?
  • thanks mum- how do you change from ntsc to PAL? I notice the French versions are PAN & SCAN is that the same as PAL? Do the US versions display ok on our TVs?Sorry for all the questions!

    http://www12.cd-wow.com/detail_results_2.php?product_code=20576

£34.99 for the complete first season (NTSC) - less whatever discount you can get for vouchers; affilate schemes etc. www.quidco.com are 4% off CD-Wow orders at the moment for instance.

    HTH :)

BTW: I totally agree with you on the rip off pricing!

Most decent TV's or DVD players will have a built in convertor to change the signal.
I've got a Phillips TV that converts an NTSC signal to a PAL display, also my Sony DVD player is multiregion to negate that problem too.

Nearly all DVD players can be made multi-region just by entering a code on the remote control. This enables them to sell the same hardware to several countries just by changing the setting. Search google for your model number and you'll probably find a code.

OR check out https://www.taomart.com. They vehemently deny they are copies but realistically they probably are very very good copies if thats your thing. The quality is excellent and they come in nice presentation boxes although the english writing is a bit random. Postage is a bit steep but they still work out v cheap on some items.
